Challenge Your Body With These Boot Camp Abs Exercises
Patch meets up with Backyard Bootcamp to learn how to burn calories, build endurance and increase strength.
Backyard Bootcamp owner and instructor Leslie Maltz is teaching locals to pull themselves up by their bootstraps in "Bootcamp 101." This program teaches students how to exercise, and incorporates nutritional lessons too.
Maltz, who has had 14 years of training, runs the boot camp outdoors, but she also owns Topham Street Gym in Tarzana.
This week, she gave us a few pointers in the accompanying video on how to target those hard-to-reach abdominal areas that make many of us self-conscious.

Backyard Bootcamp meets at local parks in the early morning for a series of drills and games such as tug of war and dodgeball. During an entire workout, students can burn up to 1,000 calories. Students should not be afraid to get a little messy, come rain or come shine.
