There was no "Miracle in the Valley" this year, but according to news reports from the Los Angeles Times and ESPN, it was a game whose outcome was not certain until the final play.

Along with footage on the ESPN blog, a spectator from Friday night's game has posted a video on YouTube. It features "Crespi's killer start." ESPN describes that start as Crespi’s Nate Walker, who returned the opening kickoff for 99 yards, scoring a touchdown. Click on the video link above to see the play.

This was a weird game from start to finish: opening kick-off returned for a touchdown; 2 pick-6 interceptions; one blocked punt recovered at the 3 yard-line; a blocked field-goal attempt that was run back for a touchdown, a safety that put the game up for grabs with 2 seconds to go, followed by a kick return that included an overhand lateral across the field ending with a tackle at the 35. Whew! There were also about 30 penalties; half of which were dead ball fouls for delay of game. All in all it was a bit of a headscratcher, but those big plays were very exciting!
