Man Threatens to Blow Up Van Nuys Bank

A man attempting to rob a Chase Bank on Van Nuys Boulevard threatened to blow it up on Thursday afternoon.

A man wearing a gray shirt walked into a Chase Bank in the 6300 block of Van Nuys Boulevard and said if the teller didn't give him money, he would blow up the place within 10 minutes, says Officer Tenesha Dobine of the LAPD's Media Relations Section.

He made the threat at 2:50 p.m. Thursday and has fled, but it is not clear if he got any money, Dobine says.
