“We’re grateful for the Van Nuys Council who organizes this each year and allows us to come together with many people from different walks of life, both religious and non-religious, to support this first gift that we are all given—life,” said Jerry Michels, a retired Encino dentist and local leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
John Riordan, Chairman of the March, explained that this event was a celebration of life, not a protest.
“We are a peaceful group who choose to embrace life, marching in solidarity and speaking for the voiceless children who have already suffered and standing in support of those who might be saved in the future,” he said. “Since 1973, the only thing we’ve ever wanted is for every child to have a birthday.”
