'After the Wizard' Special Screening to Take Place at Encino Laemmle Theater

The Jeffrey Foundation will be hosting the event August 12.

After the Wizard has teamed up with The Jeffrey Foundation's "Circle of Love" Support Group to present a special benefit screening of the film at Encino's on August 12. The Foundation helps improve the quality of life of children with special needs and their families.

This screening kicks off the "Circle of Love" Million Dollar Celebrity Challenge, a new campaign the foundation has begun to address current government budgeting shortfalls that have impacted all childcare centers in California, including the Jeffrey Foundation.

After the Wizard, based on characters in L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, tells the story of a 12-year-old Kansas orphan and a mutual friendship that has continued since Dorothy left Oz. The Tin Woodman and the Scarecrow make a comeback as they seek Dorothy’s help and set out on an unforgettable adventure to Kansas.

After the Wizard stars Jordan Van Vranken who recently appeared in the Cameron Diaz comedy Bad Teacher. The film also stars Jermel Nakia as the Scarecrow, Orien Richman as the Tin Woodman, P. David Mitchell as the Lion, Peter Mark Richman as Charles Samuel Williams, Helen Richman as Mrs. Murphy, Loren Lester as Dr. Edwards, and Susan Giosa as Ms. Thomson. This is the first feature film directed and written by Hugh Gross. The film stars Jeffrey Foundation members, Peter Mark and Helen Richman.
