There's a Bargain Book Sale Coming Soon to Tarzana!

Thousands of gently used hardcovers, paperbacks and books for the holidays will be up for grabs in the neighborhood soon.

The Friends of the Encino-Tarzana Library had a successful book sale in September, and so the group is having another event on Fri. Dec 7 and Sat. Dec 8.

Thousands of gently-used hardcover books and paperbacks will be on sale, as well as books for children, books for the holidays and DVDs.

Bonnie Siegel, who has volunteered for Friends of the Library since 2011, said that the books would be priced very reasonably, with children's book prices starting at 25 cents, paperbacks at 50 cents and hardcovers books at $1. Vintage, collectable and coffee table books will be priced individually. DVDs will be prices from 25 cents and up.

According to Siegel, many of the books are signed by the author, and there will also be a special box of Christmas-themed books.

Other books will be divided into sections: art books, coffee table books, biography, business and law, classics, computer books, cookbooks, health and medicine, marriage and family, new age, non-fiction, self help, science, drama and more. The fiction section will be alphabetized by author.

All proceeds go to help fund Friends of the Encino-Tarzana Library programming and events, said Siegel, as well as to buy new books and supplies for the library.

The Friends bookstore, located in the library and open during regular hours, also features previously owned books at bargain prices.
