A Taste of El Salvador at the Encino Farmers Market

Ara's Kitchen serves pupusas, a traditional Salvadorian dish, every Sunday.

Ara's Kitchen is bringing a taste of El Salvador to the Encino Farmers Market.

Martha Araceli and Julio Alfaro prepare 14 different kinds of pupusas. A pupusa is a thick handmade corn tortilla filled with cheese, meat or vegetables. Customer favorites include chicken and potato and vegetarian options such as cheese with spinach or mushroom and onion.

This booth also offers several beverages such as traditional horchata, pineapple-mango, watermelon, strawberry lemonade, lemonade, tamarindo and virgin mojitos, which are an Encino favorite.
