Just who doesn't hear a Galpin Ford radio commercial at least twice a day in LA?
Six decades Bert Boeckmann got a job as a salesman at a Ford dealership in the San Fernando Valley.
He not only rose through the rankers to become the owner, but became one of the most well-known businessmen in the Southland.
On Sunday, his North Hills dealership held an anniversary car show celebration to honor Boeckmann's ties with the lot that date back to 1953. The event was covered by the Daily News.
Boeckmann, a Northridge resident, still comes in Monday through Friday to work and still loves talking to customers.
"It’s amazing, if you’re with someone 15 minutes and they trust you, the things they tell you," he told the Daily News. "I probably know more about many families than the family knows just because people enjoy talking about what their life is, or what their interests are, the hardships they’re going through and I enjoy listening.”
