Fresh & Easy Express Set to Open Oct. 24

The store will replace the old Rite Aid on Ventura Boulevard.

Patch has been keeping an eye on the construction site at the corner of Ventura Boulevard and Haskell, from the days when the Rite Aid closed through to the gradual appearance of a Fresh & Easy Express at the location.

A banner appeared recently announcing that the store was hiring, and another sign has just appeared indicating the store's opening date of Oct. 24.

According to Jillian Cardwell, a representative of the store, Fresh & Easy Express also donate $1,000 to charity every time it opens a new location. The charity can be nominated by local residents. Click here to nominate your favorite charity for the opening of the Encino store.

.....I like Fresh & Easy, but, enough already with "new" grocery chains opening up in the Valley. Now you have this SuperKing Market, which is probably just another Food4Less in disguise. With the economy down, these stores just knock out Vons Pavillion & Albertsons. If Ralphs wasn't a part of Food4Less it would be in trouble too
