Jenni Rivera Boutique Opens in SFV

The singer died in a plane crash in December of 2012 in northern Mexico.

A boutique in honor of Mexican-American music icon and former Encino resident Jenni Rivera opened in Panorama City Saturday, according to ABC7

The store is located in the 8500 block of Van Nuys Boulevard and features clothes with the singer's initials, J-R, an exclusive line of Jenni jeans and other related products.

Rivera was one of Mexico's biggest television stars, whose records dominated the "banda'' style of regional Mexican music popular in California and northwestern Mexico. She was born in Long Beach, and as an adult lived in Mexico and Encino.

Rivera died in a plane crash in December of 2012 in northern Mexico.

Hundreds of fans lined up outside the store in anticipation when it opened, according to ABC7.
