Red Room Food and Wine Bar to Hold Grand Opening Thursday

The Encino bar serves tapas-style dishes and stocks wines from around the world.

Although the Red Room Food and Wine Bar has been open for a few months, it will celebrate in style with a grand opening Thursday, according to owner and CEO Kevin Khalili.

The Encino Chamber of Commerce will cut the ribbon during the grand opening, which kicks off at 5 p.m.

Khalili is no stranger to Encino; he also owns the on Ventura Boulevard.

The Red Room serves up tapas-style dishes, salads, flatbreads and a variety of entrees. For oenophiles, there is another draw: Khalili told Patch that the bar stocks 50 different wines from around the world.

"We have bubbles from Spain," Khalili said. "Champagne, bubbles from Napa, Italian prosecco; wines from Argentina, France, Italy, New Zealand, Australia and Germany."

Khalili said it was difficult to choose among them for a favorite, but recommended a "super-Tuscan," a Bordeaux, and a Napa Cabernet. Fortunately, the Red Room also serves up flights of wine, to help the indecisive.
