St. Moritz Bakery Sells Guilt-Free Treats at the Encino Farmers Market

There is something for everyone at St. Moritz Bakery's booth, whether it's sugar-free pies, fat-free oat bran muffins, gluten-free desserts, organic bread or traditional baked goods.

Do you know the muffin man?

He doesn't show his face at the Encino Farmers Market, but his family business, the St. Moritz Bakery, has a booth there every Sunday. Natalie Elkazez is the saleswoman, and her father bakes the desserts and breads behind the scenes.

"I am buying the poppy seed roll, I buy it every week," said Reseda resident Mary Anne Demenno. "I have it for breakfast."

"I bought a wonderful baguette," said Marilee Kolb of Tarzana. "Everything is delicious!"

According to Elkazez, breads contain no sugar, fat, dairy products, eggs or added sugars. Sweets such as oat bran muffins contain honey instead of sugar, and pies are sweetened with natural fruit juice.

The Encino Farmers Market is open year-round on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 17400 Victory Blvd.
