5 Things You Need to Know Today: Oct. 6

Having trouble finding something to do on this rainy day? Here's what's going on in government, real estate and sports.

Welcome to "5 Things You Need to Know Today," a new Patch column where we give you essential information at a glance. Check back each day for more, and let us know what you think of this new feature in the comments.

  1. Do you want to buy the Entourage house? The 9,000-square-foot Tuscan villa in Encino, once occupied by Vincent Chase and his gang, is on the market for $5.75 million.
  2. The Encino Neighborhood Council's Planning & Land Use Committee meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Encino Community Center. They will be discussing crosswalk improvements on Ventura Boulevard, sign regulation on the Ventura/Cahuenga Blvd. corridor and commercial design guidelines. See the agenda for more information.
  3. Drivers in the area should be prepared for localized street flooding. The heavy rainfall will continue throughout the day with scattered showers this evening. Tomorrow, expect partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid 60s to lower 70s, according to Weather Underground.
  4. Encino Little League's Fall Ball opens tomorrow. There is still room for 5- and 6-year-olds to sign up online. All other Encino Little League divisions are full.
  5. How much do our elected City Council members really know about our town? Councilman Paul Koretz's right hand man, Jeff Ebenstein, was raised here and keeps Koretz up to speed on what's important to us.
