  2. Looks like the rain will continue through early Wednesday. Today, the forecast in Encino is a high of 64 degrees with clouds and a few showers.
  3. Published writer Steven J. Kay leads will lead a writers' workshop at 7:30 p.m. at Barnes and Noble where aspiring writers can receive support and guidance. Whether you are just starting out or aiming to take your efforts to the next level, this group aims to help you achieve your goals. The event is free and open to all.
  4. Check out Susan Spillman's latest mom column about her brushes with framed fame. Whether it's Don Johnson at Haskell Cleaners or Paula Abdul at Plaza Lock & Key, Spillman says celebrity photographs make running errands much more fun in Encino.
  5. Encino-Tarzana Library is closed today, and every Monday for that matter. City Hall has targeted the library system for massive cuts causing them to reduce hours of operation from seven days a week to five. The problem is that the Encino-Tarzana Library is experiencing a surge in usage as a result of the budget crunch most residents are feeling.
