At What Age Do You Stop the Easter Egg and Afikomen Hunts?

We're also hunting for creative prize ideas.

Passover and Easter are two important holidays on the Jewish and Christian calendars, respectively. Because both holidays will be celebrated this week, we're looking for new and creative ways to bring the afikomen and Easter egg hunts to life.

Afikomen, which means dessert in Aramaic, is a piece of matzoh (unleavened bread) that is set aside during the Passover Seder. The head of the household hides the afikomen for the children to find, and rewards them with money, candy or a prize.

For Easter, eggs are painted and decorated as a symbol of rebirth and new life. During an Easter egg hunt, the eggs are hidden either indoors, outdoors or both, and prizes are given to the child who finds the most eggs.
