Blumenfield and Berman to Host Senior Fraud Prevention Workshops

The event is set to take place in Reseda Saturday.

Assemblymember Bob Blumenfield and Congressman Howard Berman will host a half-day series of senior fraud prevention workshops that address investment and telemarketing fraud prevention, making the best purchasing decisions in Medicare, protect themselves from criminals, and maintaining financial independence by avoiding financial scams.  There will also be a number of service booths on hand to simultaneously assist seniors during the event. 

Among the attendees will be Assemblymember Bob Blumenfield; Congressman Howard Berman; Marlene Seltzer, Elder Law Attorney of Tarzana; Paul Davis, Senior Insurance Specialist of Encino; Detective Erin Camphouse, Commercial Crimes Unit, LAPD; and Jackie Wiley-Sistrunk, the CA Department of Corporations.

Service booth operators include West Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center, Silverado Senior Living, LA City Adult Protective Services, Jewish Family Services, A Place for Mom, Concepts for Living, Bright Star Senior Home Care, ONEgeneration Senior Enrichment Center, and the Senior Services Committee of the Encino Chamber of Commerce.
