Canvas of Tarzana Neighborhood Council Votes Not Posted; Recount Pending

The final count had not been confirmed as of Friday morning.

The results of Thursday's Tarzana Neighorhood Council election are "pending recount," according to various sources, including the EmpowerLA website.

Polling was open from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Tarzana Community and Cultural Center on Ventura Boulevard. Before 6 p.m., more ballot papers had to be requested to cope with the demand, according to Jay Handal, one of the organizers.

Kevin Taylor of EmpowerLA told Patch that the unofficial results would be declared once the votes had been counted, but that a waiting period of three days would be necessary to take into account appeals and provisional votes.
