There is no doubt that social media has completely transformed the way people communicate, but it has also transformed and reinvented a new way companies and consumers do business and interact with each other. Most real estate companies today are largely involved in a social media component that helps generate leads and gather possible interested buyers. 

We have entered a time where, through social media, we can build a brand and cultivate a brand image to reach a mass audience. However, using social media does not replace traditional marketing avenues. A successful realtor will utilize all aspects of marketing for your property and use social media as just one of the many tool to help market your property and target specific niches.

Real estate agents have turned these networks into their own personal contact database and into a live feed of new property listings they acquire. The best way to market a property online is to first begin by strategizing, who do you want to target?  Positioning the property effectively in today’s market can be the biggest challenge.  Is the home priced competitively for the market? Do the features in the home reflect those features of other homes in the area?

As social media evolves, people of all background utilize this medium to spread a message. Consumers and businesses today rely heavily on websites, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and blogs. Whether Realtors are sharing Youtube videos, listings or advice with their communities and prospective buyers or sellers, real estate professionals are using social media to increase property exposure and who knows could even help you find your dream home via a social network!
