Closures Due on Sepulveda Pass

The contractor is currently preparing to temporarily widen the freeway near the Mulholland Bridge in order to support the development of a construction work zone at the center of the freeway.

A bridge falsework structure will get erected temporarily to support the reconstruction of the Mulholland Bridge. The temporary widening of both directions of the freeway near the Mulholland Bridge will entail roadway repaving work and the re-striping of freeway lanes.

This work will require a closure of the northbound Skirball on-ramp during a weekend and full directional freeway closures for four nights.

The northbound Skirball on-ramp is anticipated to close on Saturday and Sunday on the dates of November 19 and 20 between the hours of 6 am to 10 pm. The full directional freeway closure is anticipated to begin Monday, November 21, 2011, for two nights and then resume for two more nights of the following week.

These full directional freeway closures will occur during the late night hours, weather permitting. Each night, ramps within the freeway closures limits may begin to close as early as 7:00 pm and freeway lanes will begin to close as early as 10:00 pm, leading up to the full directional freeway closure between the hours of 12:00 am, midnight, to 5:00 am.

Sepulveda Blvd. will remain open during the nights of the full directional freeway closures and will be used as a detour route. Detour maps are available at www.metro.net/405.
