Daylight Saving Time: Rotate Your Clocks and Your Emergency Supplies

Most people remember to "spring forward and fall back" when it comes time to change the clock.

With spring about a week away, it’s time to change the clocks and spring forward an hour. 

Daylight Saving starts at 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

You'll be getting 60 minutes less sleep, but look forward to an extra hour of sunlight at the end of every day.

Don't forget to manually change the clocks around your home, in your car and on your microwave. And you might as well double check that your cell phone and computer clocks have made the leap as well.

While Californians make the switch from standard time with the rest of the United States, Hawaii, Arizona, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Marianas will not.

The Los Angeles Fire Department also uses Daylight Saving to remind residents that when you rotate your clocks, you rotate your emergency supplies. Don't have an emergency kit in your home? Here's a list of recommended items.

Don’t forget to check and shake that fire extinguisher and test every carbon monoxide and smoke alarm in your home as well.
