Dog Owners Meet Up to Hike Local Parks

Los Angeles Dog Adventures Meetup Group in Encino gathers local residents to participate in pet friendly outdoor activities.

This week we tried out an active outdoorsy group from Meetup.com. For those who feel limited because they can't find someone to share an interest or activity, Meetup helps groups of people form offline clubs in local communities.

Last Sunday Encino Patch's Melissa Lambarena went on a scenic hike with the Los Angeles Dog Adventures Meetup Group at Westridge Canyonback Park. The group members stay fit by doing outdoor activities with their four legged pals.

Westridge Canyonback Park is a place where friendly dogs can run off leash along the hiking trail and play with neighboring canines. While you and your pet get in your daily calorie burn you are sure to enjoy a great view of the city.

Please be advised that rattle snakes and coyotes are common in this area and it is recommended to keep pets on leash if they are not certain to follow commands.

If hiking or the outdoors are not for you, feel free to check out other Meetup groups in your area.
