Encino Blaze Extinguished

A fire at 1661 Ventura Blvd. was quickly dealt with by firefighters Wednesday.

The LAFD responded to reports of fire at Wednesday afternoon that was thought to be electrical in nature, according to authorities.

According to the LAFD's website, "Multiple smoke alarms were triggered" and there were "Reports of occupants calmly exiting."

The fire was extinguished by 2:34 p.m, according to an update by Erick Scott, LAFD spokesperson.

Scott told City News Service that a fire in a vault connected to an elevator shaft was to blame.
