Encino Patch Has Newly Redesigned Home Page and Blogs

Already have a blog? Want to start one? Talk to Editor Lauren Rosenblum about writing on Encino Patch's new platform.

You may have noticed some changes to the Encino Patch home page recently. Don't worry, it's still the same site—we just gave it a little face lift:

  • There are now four featured posts at the top of the page instead of three.
  • The events calendar now appears front and center.
  • There’s a new section called Local Voices.
  • Our Directory page is now remodeled and titled Places.

We're excited to announce that, in addition to quality journalism, you can now find blogs. We think blogs, wielded smartly, are perfect for building what we care most about at Encino Patch: our community.

Patch blogs are going to mean the following: a platform for free expression made available to anyone who can prove they have something meaningful, witty or creative to say while being relevant locally.

A Patch blogger might be a rabbi, a high school junior, or a green thumb sharing gardening insights. They won't be conspiracy theorists, hate-speech mongers or long-form pig Latin balladeers.

Whether your passion is education, government, business, social issues, shopping, cooking or all the best hiking trails in Encino—if it's your thing, we want to read what you have to share!

We've dubbed this as Local Voices, a reflection of our overall strategy to create the local information solution we always envisioned.

So far, we've welcomed Edahn Small and his "Ask Edahn" advice blog. We've also introduced Candice Mack's a blog devoted to reading, literacy, librarianship and community.

If you live in Encino, and want to set up your soapbox on our platform, send an e-mail to Editor Lauren Rosenblum at laurenr@patch.com.

And finally, don't get too comfortable; we're always tweaking the site to make the user experience better.
