Encino 'Plastic Surgeon' Arrested in LAPD Sting Operation

Dr. Ehab Aly Mohamed is arrested on suspicion of grand theft.

Police busted a former Encino cosmetic surgeon Friday morning and arrested him on suspicion of grand theft, according to a report by KNX 1070.

Dr. Ehab Aly Mohamed, who already had his medical license suspended, thought he was going to sell a piece of medical equipment to a Connecticut spa owner. Instead, he was met by LAPD investigators, the radio station reported.

The owner of the spa said she helped police arrange the sting operation after reading KNX 1070’s reports over the last year.

In January, Mohamed’s license was suspended after the California Medical Board argued that he posed a danger to the public as a result of his treatment of two patients, one of whom died.

Mohamed was ordered not to practice or attempt to practice any aspect of medicine or surgery; supervise physician assistants; advertise; be present in his office; possess, order, purchase, receive, prescribe, administer or distribute drugs.

The LAPD and the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office are still looking into possible criminal charges involving the death of Mohamed’s patient, 61-year-old Sharon Carpenter Nicholson, as well as several other incidents in which, attorneys said, he improperly prescribed heavy sedatives.
