Encino Stand-Up Comic Talks About Her Upcoming Appearance on Marie Osmond Talk Show

Local resident Stephanie Blum-Sederbush will appear on "Marie" Thursday morning.

Encino resident Stephanie Blum-Sederbush will be among Marie Osmond's guests on the Marie show on the Hallmark channel this Thursday

Blum-Sederbush is a stand-up comic whose humor, she says, focuses on the trials and tribulations of motherhood. She performs regularly at such venues as Flappers in Burbank and the Ice House in Pasadena.

Blum-Sederbush moved from Brooklyn, New York, to the Valley nine years ago after appearing on the television show Star Search, and loved it so much she decided to stay, living in Sherman Oaks for five years before settling in Encino. The decision to switch coasts, she said, was easy.

"I won one round of 'Star Search' and then lost the second", said Blum-Sederbush. "They put us up in a hotel in the middle of winter, and it was warm, and we were like, 'I like it here, I want to move here."

She says she enjoys living in a neighborhood that's close to the studios and the entertainment industry, and loved talking to Marie Osmond.

"Her show is just empowering to women, and she wanted to know all about how it is to be a woman comic and to be a mom at the same time," said Blum. "She just connected to that kind of mom humor."
