Expect I-405 Freeway Closure Friday Night

The concrete pour of the Skirball Bridge deck will require a full directional freeway closure in each direction on Friday night.

As part of the reconstruction of the northern half of the Skirball Bridge, the contractor is expected to perform the concrete pour to form the deck on the bridge on Friday night, Sept. 16, according to the attached release from Metro.

This operation will require a full closure of the freeway in each direction on one night, weather permitting. Only one direction of the I-405 freeway will be closed at a time, beginning with the closure of the southbound direction followed by the closure of the northbound direction, Metro said.

Ramps within the freeway closure limits may close as early as 7 p.m. and freeway lanes may close as early as 10 p.m., leading up to the full directional freeway closure beginning at midnight.
