Gas Is Up Again; Blame Hurricane Irene

Take a look at gas prices in Encino for self-serve regular.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County recorded its largest daily increase since March 5 on Sunday, rising 2.9 cents to $3.796, one day after increasing 2.3 cents.

Analysts attribute the sharp daily increases to fears of a disruption of supply of gasoline stemming from the closures of East Coast refineries because of the effects of Hurricane Irene.

This 10th consecutive daily increase pushed the average price 7.8 cents higher than one week ago and 72.1 cents above what it was at this time last year, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
