UPDATE: Grandmother, Grandson Found

They vanished on the way to a Special Olympics practice.

An 80-year-old woman and her disabled 21-year-old grandson vanished on their way to a Special Olympics practice session at , and police are seeking the public's help locating the two.

Barbara and Justin Berlin left her home in the 19000 block of Gledhill Street Saturday, said Officer Cleon Joseph of the Los Angeles Police Department.

They were last seen Saturday afternoon in a red four-door 2001 Nissan Sentra with California license plate 4TIV134 leaving Plummer and De Soto in Chatsworth, according to Karen Marlow, the daughter of Barbara Berlin.

"They were going to a Special Olympics baseball practice at Balboa Park,'' Joseph said. Police said Justin had the mental capacity of an eight-year-old and Barbara had just started showing signs of dementia. The two never made it to the practice.

Justin Berlin suffers from seizures and needs his medication, Marlow said.

Barbara Berlin has gray hair and brown eyes. She is 5-feet 7-inches tall and weighs 109 pounds.

Justin Berlin has brown hair and brown eyes. He is 6 feet tall and weighs 220 pounds.

Police urged anyone with information regarding Barbara and Justin Berlin's whereabouts to contact the LAPD Devonshire Division at 818-832-0633.
