Little Change to Gasoline Prices

The average price in L.A. County is $3.73 a gallon.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose three-tenths of a cent today to $3.735, after increasing by one-tenth of a cent each of the past two days.

The average price is two-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, 18.3 cents higher than a month ago and 38.1 cents greater than a year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has increased three-tenths of a cent since a 20-day streak of increases ended Jan. 12.

"We typically see gas prices either stabilize or decline in January because of lower demand than during other parts of the year, so this is not
unusual,'' said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
