A man was fatally shot while sitting in a vehicle parked in front a 7-Eleven in Reseda Tuesday, police said.

The shooting near Victory and Reseda boulevards was reported about 1:15 a.m., said Los Angeles police Officer Gary Shanahan of the West Valley Station. Lamar Green Jr., 28, died at a hospital, said coroner's Chief Craig Harvey.

Green and a companion were sitting in a parked vehicle outside the store when someone walked up and shot him, said Los Angeles police Officer Bruce Borihanh of the Media Relations office.

The companion was uninjured. No immediate arrests were made. It was unclear if surveillance cameras recorded the shooting.
