No Traffic on 101 Freeway Friday Night

The 405 closure has turned a city that is normally packed with cars on a Friday evening into a ghost town.

This Friday, the famed beginning of the 405 closure, we were warned that there would be horrendous back-up onto the surrounding freeways and surface streets.

Well, the 101 Freeway was wide open. Ventura Boulevard was spooky quiet. And I think it's safe to say the 'Carmageddon' skeptics are smiling now.

At 8:15 p.m. on the first night of 'Carmageddon' my sister and I drove from Woodland Hills to Sherman Oaks. We made it home in nine minutes.

Above is a video taken of our cruise down the 101 Freeway. As you can see, the few cars on the road are moving with no problems and the surrounding streets are completely empty.

That’s right, welcome to the Valley without traffic.
