November at the Library: a Persian Movie Screening and 2 Book Clubs [VIDEO]

The following events are provided courtesy of the library staff and the Friends of the Encino-Tarzana Library.

November 3, 3 p.m: Friends of the Library Page Turners' Book Club. The book up for discussion will be The Last Ember by Daniel Levin. This discussion will take place off the library campus; RSVP for more details. Click on the video link above to see Levin talk about his novel.

Tuesday November 8, 4-5 p.m: Arts and Crafts fun with Shokoufeh. See the flier above for more information.

Nov. 9, 3-5 p.m: Persian Movie Screening. Join the library for a screening of The Fifth Reaction, an Iranian film with English subtitles. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Click on the YouTube video above to see a clip from the movie.

Nov. 16, 1-2:30 p.m: Friends of Encino-Tarzana Branch Library Annual Membership Meeting. Featuring guest speaker Cecily Young, former Principal of Ehrlich Architects, the designer of the Branch Library. Refreshments will be served.

Nov. 16, 4-5:30 p.m: Friends of the Library History & Politics Book Club. Select and read a book about President George H. W. Bush; a lively discussion is planned, according to the Friends of the Library.

Nov. 17, 4-5 pm: Teen Council. Help plan library branch events and have some input into what materials and programs the Library offers to teens. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Nov. 22, 4-5 p.m. Thanksgiving Program by Christopher Yates as Lord Rusty. See flier above for more information.
