Power Outage Hits Encino

Roughly 350 customers are without power, and no estimated time for the restoration of power has been announced.

About 350 customers in Encino are without power, according to Carol Tucker of the Department of Water and Power.

Tucker told Patch that initial estimates by the DWP were that around 1,000 customers were affected. That number has now been revised.

Tucker said that she hoped power would be largely restored quickly, "probably within the next couple of hours."

The outage was reported at 2:29 p.m. near Ventura Boulevard, according to the City News Service.

The exact area of the outage is not known by the DWP, but Tucker said that it was primarily residential customers that were affected.

Tucker told the City News Service that crews were on the scene trying to determine the cause of the outage.
