Rainstorm Hits the Valley

A light rain fell in Encino, and Agoura Hills reported .35 inches of rain.

Today's rainstorm dropped .70 inch of rain at downtown Los Angeles, and .64 at LAX, but much more rain was reported in the mountains north and west of the city.

Rain gauges operated by Los Angeles County observed 1.34 inches of rain at a fire station in Trancas Canyon, north of Malibu.

Other totals in the Santa Monica Mountains were .55 inches in Malibu Canyon, .91 inches at Big Rock Mesa in Malibu, .65 inches at UCLA, .63 inches at Hollywood Reservoir and .35 inches at Agoura Hills. Northwest of Los Angeles, county gauges measured .55 inches at Castaic, .62 inches at Northridge, .55 inches at Bell Canyon and no rain at all in the Antelope Valley.

In the South Bay, there was .61 inches of rain at Redondo Beach, .59 at Dominguez Hills, .49 at Long Beach Airport and .52 at Rolling Hills Estates.

In the San Gabriel Mountains area, the NWS and county saw .70 inches at Pasadena, .51 at Pacoima Dam, .67y in La Canada-Flintridge, and .79 at Big Dalton Dam above Azusa.
