Tarzana House Fire Extinguished
The blaze started in the attic and a second-floor room.
It took nearly an hour for firefighters to knock down a stubborn blaze in a Tarzana home this afternoon. About three dozen firefighters sent to 3969 N. Tarrybrae Terrace at 4:05 p.m. found smoke showing from a steep pitched tile roof.
The fire was determined to be in the attic and a room on the second floor, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Firefighters cut holes in the roof to ventilate the fire and had the flames extinguished in 55 minutes Scott said, adding that the cause of the blaze was under investigation. A damage estimate was being tabulated, he said.
