Throw a Punch and Burn Some Calories

Mixed-martial arts and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor Patrick King demonstrates boxing moves to burn calories.

If you are new to boxing, you can forget the kid gloves at Tarzana Boxing & Fitness where you'll hit the ground running with an intense workout.

This week, mixed-martial arts and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor Patrick King took the gloves off to show us a few moves you can try at home to burn some extra calories.

In the accompanying video King demonstrates a few exercises you can do at home without gloves or bags. The video instructs on hand placement, how to do a slip and how to shadowbox.

King has been teaching boxing and kickboxing at Tarzana Boxing & Fitness for the past six years. He himself has struggled with weight loss and understands that people have different motivations for seeking the sport of boxing.

Boxing combines full body movements that help strengthen the whole body in one single movement.
