Encino Neighborhood Council Business and Area 2 Representatives Declared; Challenges Remain

The unofficial results were declared on September 30. The two tied positions have been decided.

The unofficial results of the recent Encino Neighborhood Council elections were released a week ago, with some caveats.

Two seats were a dead tie, and so had to be decided this week. The positions of Area 2 Representative and one of the Business Representative seats have now been decided.

Todd Rubenstein and Eliot Cohen gained the same number of votes, and Rubenstein was elected to a Business Representative seat after provisional votes were counted and added, according to Louis Krokover, the current president of the Council (Krokover did not run for reelection).

Jason Ackerman and Fred Myer were tied for the Area 2 Representative seat, and Ackerman won on a straw vote, according to Krokover.

There have also been other developments; a challenge has been raised in the election of Talar Dardarian as the Planning and Land Use Representative. Another challenge has been issued regarding the election of Debra George as Park Advocate / Environment Representative.
