Why Go: Celebrate America at this fun and festive Independence Day event for the entire family in the hills of Burbank. Have a picnic and enjoy the United States Air Force, Surfin' USA and the Burbank Philharmonic for an evening of great entertainment filled with surprises. See a flyover, the induction of new enlistees, Air Force veteran Daniel Rutherford singing the national anthem and more.

Fireworks Spectacular at Calabasas High School
When/Where: Monday, 5 p.m.; fireworks at 9 p.m. Calabasas High School, 22855 W. Mulholland Hwy., Calabasas.

Why Go: It’s a fun family Fourth of July featuring live band Stone Soul performing 1960s soul and Motown classics; a free family fun zone with a balloon artist, rides, crafts, games and a grand fireworks display! No alcohol.
Pricing: $11 per person. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
Where/When: Monday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Hansen Dam Recreation Area, 11770 Foothill Blvd., Lake View Terrace.
Why Go: This holiday celebration at Hansen Dam is in its 17th year and celebrates "hometown heroes." Check out gourmet food trucks, music, raffles and prizes, a free water slide, a kid zone and other entertainment. Take a dip in the 1.5-acre swim lake, open during the day. The fireworks show is orchestrated with patriotic music.

July 4th Fireworks Spectacular with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl
When: Saturday to Monday, 7:30 p.m. Hollywood Bowl, 2301 N. Highland Ave., Hollywood.
Why Go: Celebrate America’s birthday three nights straight under the stars with the Los Angeles Philharmonic plus Daryl Hall & John Oates and the famed fireworks display.
Pricing: $12-$168.
When/Where: Monday, 2 p.m.-9 p.m., Rose Bowl, 1001 Rose Bowl Dr., Pasadena.
Why Go: There’s music, food and fireworks at the 85th annual Rose Bowl event. Entertainment is to include live entertainment by the Jan & Dean Show featuring Dean Torrence, Mariachi Divas, a band performance by DCI Phantom Regiment, Ives Brothers FMX motorcycle stunt and a huge fireworks show.
Pricing: Adults, $13; free for children 7 and under and for active military with ID.
4th of July Spectacular in Northridge (Porter Ranch)
When/Where: Monday, 4:30 p.m.-10 p.m. Shepherd of the Hills Church, 19700 Rinaldi St., Porter Ranch.
Why Go: The free festival and fireworks show includes moon bounces and face painting for children, an outdoor stage show and food from over a dozen local food vendors. An aerial fireworks display closes the festivities.
Pricing: Free; food is extra.
The 13th Annual July 4th Fireworks Festival at CBS Studio Center in Studio City
When/Where: Monday, 5 p.m.-9:30 p.m.; gates open at 4:30 pm. CBS Studio Center, 4024 Radford Ave., Studio City.
Why Go: Let freedom ring at this one-of-a-kind fireworks festival on a studio backlot with two different prices levels: general and VIP. The general admission ticket features musical entertainers Boogie Nights on the mainstage. This fun-filled annual family event is hosted by CBS meteorologist Josh Rubenstein and features All American Smokehouse BBQ, a children’s fun zone, a green and a business exposition for general admission ticketholders.
If you want to go high-end, get the VIP ticket, which includes dining in an air-conditioned soundstage and rooftop fireworks viewing. Other VIP perks include a gourmet BBQ dinner, Millions of Milkshakes, a taco bar, gourmet popcorn, a cheese bar, beer and wine, vodka and whiskey tasting, boutique sake, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Horchata Bar, the Starbuck Jazz Quartet—and, of course, a spectacular aerial fireworks display! The event benefits the TJ Martell Foundation.
Pricing: General admission: adults, $15 advance, $20 at the gate; children age 6-12, $8 advance, $10 at the gate; add $20 for rooftop viewing access. VIP tickets: adults, $100; children ages 5-12, $50; ages 3-5, $15.
Annual Dennis P. Zine July 4th Extravaganza in Woodland Hills
When/Where: Monday, 6 p.m.; fireworks begin at 9:05 p.m. Warner Park, 5800 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Woodland Hills.
Why Go: This Fourth of July festival in the West Valley is part of the Concert on the Green series, with food vendors, a play zone, a free concert and a fireworks show. The featured entertainment is the 110-piece Los Angeles Pierce Symphonic Winds and Taylor Made, the James Taylor tribute band.
Pricing: Free.
