Westmark School Celebrates Opening of New Building

The school's board of trustees, advisory board, students and teachers all attended the opening ceremony.

on Louise Avenue proudly unveiled its new classroom building Thursday to an assembled crowd of students, faculty, and members of the broader educational community. The new building will provide six state of the art classrooms for students and faculty and are equipped with new Smart Boards and new furniture.

Over 400 people including students, faculty, alumni, current and past parents, members of the board of trustees, and the school's advisory board consisting of educators from Yale, Harvard, USC and Cal State Northridge, participated in the event. 

The school's head, Muir Meredith, along with Jamie Montgomery, the chairman of the board of directors, and Jennifer Spellman, the middle school director, welcomed everyone and introduced the building, highlighting the wonderful benefits the new space will provide.

Westmark's cheerleaders were also on hand to greet guests, and the building's opening ceremony featured performances by the school's Glee Club and members of the student council. These were followed by lunch in the newly expanded upper school quad and tours of the new building. 

inspires students with language-based learning differences (in grades 3-12) who possess academic potential and personal promise to build on their strengths and prepare for a successful college experience.
