The average price has dropped on 54 of the past 55 days and is 4.2 cents less than one week ago and 30 cents lower than one month ago, but 9.6 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has fallen 94.6 cents over the past 55 days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Sunday. It decreased for 48 consecutive days, was unchanged Tuesday and resumed dropping Wednesday.
