Mobile Pet Adoption Happens This Sunday at Moorpark Park

Got love? Why not give some of it to a dog and/or cat who has found itself in one of the city's animal shelters?

On the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month*, Los Angeles
Animal Services brings truckloads of wonderful family pets from the East Valley and South L.A. animal shelters to the park at the corner of Moorpark and Laurel Canyon.  There, you can interact with them in a stress-free setting, learn about the adoption process from the knowledgeable volunteers, and decide whether you are ready to make a long-term commitment to a new family member.

Bring the entire family, including a current dog(s), so when you find “the one,” an introduction can be made on neutral territory, as a way to see that everyone will get along.  Many of the pets are spayed & neutered and can go home with you right away! Those that are not can still be adopted on the spot, and picked up in 1-2 days.

Please bring cash or check.
Adoption fees range from $76 to $122.

*An adoption event may be cancelled depending on weather conditions or some other unexpected circumstance.

Remember to take a 'test drive' of your proposed adoptee around the park before you choose. You can learn a lot about the temperament of your proposed new pet by seeing how the new pet interacts with other future adoptees being test driven.
