Community Emergency Response Team Training

The Encino Neighborhood Council Public Safety Committee, in coordination with the Los Angeles Fire Department, is proud to sponsor Community Emergency Response Team classes.

CERT is a free disaster preparedness program designed to help you protect yourself, family and neighbors in a crisis situation when emergency services become overwhelmed and cannot arrive in time.  CERT teaches emergency skills and trains for hazards, such as fire safety, search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations.  Given the recent tragic events in Japan, the Encino Neighborhood Council encourages our community and neighbors to take advantage of this free opportunity to prepare themselves in the event of natural disasters.

Trainees who graduate will earn a certificate of completion, along with a free emergency survival kit. The responsibility for preparedness lies within each person.
