Purchasing your produce from a local vendor could help reduce your carbon footprint.

There are a lot of advantages to living in Southern California, but chief among them is probably the weather.

The climate here is temperate pretty much year round, which means you can grow many different kinds of fruits and vegetables here.

Shopping for your produce at a farmers markets is a great way to soak up some of that SoCal sun, but it’s also probably helping to reduce your impact on the environment.

At the least, when you buy produce from a farmers market, chances are those fruits and vegetables were grown fairly close, which reduces the distance a truck had to drive to get them to you.

Sure, there are probably grocery stores that buy their produce from area farms and probably not all farmers market vendors grow their produce locally, which is why you should always ask before buying.
