Does a Free Rose Await You at Casa de Flores?
It all depends on what your first name is.
As you drive down Ventura Boulevard near Haskell Avenue, chances are you'll notice the enormous store sign for Casa de Flores. Each week the florist gives away free roses to anyone whose name is featured on the sign, which on Thursday proclaimed: "If your name is Candyce, come in for a free rose."
Other special blooms at the store now, according to florist Tracey To, are sunflowers and other yellow flowers.
"Because it's fall, sunflowers are abundant right now," said To, adding that the store had a special offer on them. If you buy ten or more, they're a dollar each. The store is also filled with yellow, orange and red flowers to celebrate the season.
