Crespi Auction to Preserve Educational Rewards: The Castellaw Gift Gathering Party Recap

Crespi Carmelite High School prepares for its annual fund raiser, Crespi Auction to Preserve Educational Rewards (C.A.P.E.R.) in March.

As we approach our annual fund raiser, Crespi Auction to Preserve Educational Rewards (C.A.P.E.R.) in March, we are reminded that our Crespi boys are “pure gold” being refined by the benefits of receiving a Catholic education to become moral leaders by attending Crespi Carmelite High School.

Gerald and Nancy Castellaw, the Crespi parents of Chet ’15 and Connor Castellaw ’13, gathered gifts at their beautiful home in Hidden Hills on Saturday, February 11. The couple hosted a private fund raiser for C.A.P.E.R. 2012 to raise funds for their sons’ Catholic school.  After a thoughtful prayer by Father Tom, and a loving message from Father Paul, the group paused to have a picture taken to remember the evening.

The evening featured homemade brisket, hot wings, lobster bisque soup, a chocolate fountain, and homemade cupcakes. Crespi mom Lea Newton baked the cupcakes from her pastry chef kitchen, Spinky’s located in Northridge. In attendance were forty-five active Crespi parents, many parent leaders from the all-boys Catholic High School, including Parent Association President Debbie Yamada, and volunteers Denise Mitchell, Sylvia Toma and Kendra Day.

When asked about sending the Castellaw boys to Crespi, Nancy responded with a huge smile on her face, “There was no other school to send my sons. I only wish I knew about Crespi when my oldest son was off to high school.” The Castellaw’s are very proud of their sons. Connor has had a great experience in media arts and will be playing his third year of lacrosse this year on the varsity team. Chet found his home as well. He started as a freshman on the soccer team.

The evening ended with lots of laughter and plans for the upcoming C.A.P.E.R. which is set for Friday, March 16 at the Four Seasons in Westlake Village. Many parents were expressing themselves about the evening and the benefits of sending their sons to Crespi Carmelite High School.
