Here are the raw data of reports collected Monday afternoon by listening to the police scanner. There were no major crimes which occurred, but it offers a rare glimpse into a "slow" day and the multitude of challenges the LAPD faces even during times of relative calm. If there are additional details needed, we'll file full news stories on the items and let you know. (Boldfaced communities are covered by Patch sites.)

Monday

1:40 p.m. Downtown Los Angeles
Undercover LAPD officers are running an operation in the downtown area to cite people observed unlawfully drinking alcoholic beverages on public streets and parks.

1:44 p.m. 9200 block of Arleta Avenue, Panorama City
LAFD is called to respond to a "sick person" at the residence.

1:49 p.m. 5500 block of Vineland Avenue, North Hollywood
LAFD is called to respond to a person with an "eye problem" at the location.

1:53 p.m. A train stop in the Sylmar/Sun Valley area
Foothill Division LAPD patrol units are called to investigate an abandoned suitcase near a train stop. A patrol unit advises they are enroute with a "code 2" (no lights or sirens) response. LAPD is taking precautionary measures in the case it is not just a forgotten article left by a commuter.

1:55 p.m. 10500 block of Lindley Avenue, Granada Hills
An LAFD rescue ambulance is called to the scene of a "hemorrhage" at the location.

1:56 p.m. 11700 block of Snelling Street, Sun Valley
A Foothill Division LAPD patrol unit advises the dispatcher that they are now attending to a "citizen flagdown."

2:01 p.m. Fallbrook Avenue and Burbank Boulevard, Canoga Park
LAFD Engine 105 is called to an "auto fire" at Fallbrook Avenue and Burbank Boulevard.

2:05 p.m. 12800 block of Osborne Street, Pacoima
LAPD Valley Traffic Division is notified of a traffic accident involving a car and trash truck in the intersection.

2:09 p.m. 9200 block of Corbin Avenue, Northridge
LAFD rescue ambulance is called to attend to a "difficult breather" at the business location.

2:09 p.m. 9700 block of Nagle Avenue, Mission Hills
LAFD Engine 7 is responding to a fire call at the location.

2:10 p.m. 12800 block of Maclay Street, Sylmar
LAFD Rescue 91 is called to the scene of a "seizure" at the residence.

2:13 p.m. 5000 block of Goodland Avenue, North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are notified about a "missing adult" last seen at the location. Patrol officers are provided additional information on their mobile computers in the patrol cars.

2:15 p.m. 4800 block of Norwich Avenue, Sherman Oaks
Van Nuys Division LAPD patrol units are called to respond immediately to a "domestic violence/restraining order violation" at the residence. The alleged violator is identified as "the husband," and he was last seen fleeing westbound on La Maida Street in a "white Ford Aerostar van."

2:22 p.m. 6800 block of White Oak Avenue, Lake Balboa
LAFD Engine 100 and Rescue 100 are called to respond to a "difficult breather" at the location.

2:24 p.m. Riverside Drive and Coldwater Canyon Avenue, Sherman Village
Van Nuys Division LAPD is dispatched to an assault with a deadly weapon, "in progress." The alleged assailant is driving a "beige SUV" and is described as a "white male with curly brown hair, and is armed with a gun." The reporting person is driving in another vehicle and provided a license plate of the "beige SUV."

2:25 p.m. 7900 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard, North Hollywood
LAFD's Light Force 89 and Rescue 7 are responding to a "difficult breather" call at the residence.

2:26 p.m. 11600 block of Magnolia Boulevard, North Hollywood
LAFD Rescue 860 is responding to a "person down" at the location.

2:26 p.m. 20800 block of Devonshire Street, Chatsworth
LAFD Engine 107 and Rescue 70 are sent to help a person who has suffered a "fall."

2:37 p.m. 6000 block of St, Clair Avenue, North Hollywood
Rescue 89 is called to the residence to attend to a "sick person."

2:40 p.m. Whitsett Avenue, north of Magnolia Boulevard, Valley Village
A North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol unit has arrived on the scene, for the call about "vandalism suspects there now." A caller has reported that several males, 20 to 25 years of age, were spotted spray painting graffiti on walls and property as they walked down the street.

2:42 p.m The first responding patrol car requests an additional unit to the vandalism scene. The officers have spotted the alleged vandals, but they are now south of Magnolia Boulevard, on Whitsett Avenue, "tagging on trash bins."

2:43 p.m. Hartsook Avenue and Lankershim Street, North Hollywood
A North Hollywood LAPD unit has detained several vandalism suspects at the location, and is requesting an additional patrol unit to assist.

2:45 p.m. 6700 block of Wilbur Avenue, Reseda
LAFD Light Force 70 and Rescue 70 are called to the scene of an "unconscious person."

2:45 p.m. 15400 block of Nordhoff Street, Mission Hills
Mission Division LAPD units are called to respond to an "unknown trouble" call at the business location.

2:49 p.m. Haskell Avenue and Hart Street, Van Nuys
An LAFD Light Force unit is sent to the intersection for a traffic accident.

2:50 p.m. Alvarado Street and 8th Street, near MacArthur Park
Undercover LAPD vice officers are observing possible prostitution activity in the area. The first undercover officer points out a particular woman: "She's carrying a black purse. Tight pink skirt, white pantyhose... she's ready to go!" Another vice officer radios that she's now crossing to another street corner. "She's gonna be right at the corner of Alvarado and James Wood. Stand by. She's crossing to the east side of Alvarado... (pause in transmission.) Ah. She's so beautiful."
First undercover officer: "Yeah, I know."

2:51 p.m. One of the undercover officers notices a suspicious "silver Honda Civic" enter the scene.

2:54 p.m. 17300 block of Vanowen Street, Lake Balboa
West Valley LAPD units are notified of a possible burglary in progress at the location. The California Highway Patrol has passed on information about a call it received from a woman. The woman has reported that an "unknown person is attempting to gain entry into her home."

2:55 p.m. 7100 block of Sepulveda Boulevard, Van Nuys
LAFD is called to yet another "difficult breather."

2:56 p.m. 16100 block of Plummer Street, Mission Hills
LAFD Rescue 87 is dispatched to attend to a person with a "headache."

2:57 p.m. 17300 block of Vanowen Street, Lake Balboa
LAPD Helicopter, Air 10, is now flying over the scene of the "hot prowl" (a burglary attempt while the premises are still occupied). Air 10 notices a man wearing "black and gray shorts and blue shoes" walking towards Louise Avenue on Vanowen Street.

2:58 p.m. A West Valley LAPD patrol unit on the scene spots the possible prowler walking eastbound on Vanowen Street, then crossing Louise Avenue, to the the "7-Eleven parking lot."

3:07 p.m. Alvarado Street and 8th Street, near MacArthur Park
The undercover vice team has been tracking the woman in the "tight pink skirt" and see that she is walking with a man up Alvarado Street toward 7th Street, almost out of their field of vision. An officer comments that if they lose track of this woman, there is another woman stationed at the corner of "8th and Union."
