Armed Robbery Occurs at Vons in Tarzana

The suspect pulls a knife and demands cash from a clerk, police say.

An investigation was underway this morning into the armed robbery of a Vons supermarket in Tarzana.

A male suspect wearing glasses and a bandana covering his face entered the store in the 18400 block of Ventura Boulevard about 11 p.m. Wednesday, pulled a knife and demanded cash from a clerk, according to Officer Gary Shanahan of the Los Angeles Police Department's West Valley Station.

The suspect ran off with an undisclosed sum, Shanahan said.
