Christmas Blaze in Van Nuys Under Investigation

The home was the site of a previous fire the week before, authorities say.

Arson investigators are looking into a noninjury Christmas evening blaze at a boarded-up two-story home in Van Nuys where a fire also broke out last week, authorities said. The home in the 7000 block of Woodman Avenue was fully involved when firefighters arrived around 10:50 p.m. Sunday, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Matt Spence.

It took 46 firefighters 24 minutes to knock down the flames, he said. No one was inside the home and there were no injuries.

The fire was suspicious because there also was a fire in the house last week, Spence said. The house appears to be uninhabited.
