Domestic Violence in Chatsworth Ends in Stabbing and Drowning

12:02 a.m. Hollywood Boulevard and Normandie Avenue, East Hollywood

Hollywood Division LAPD units are called to the scene of an "ADW (assault with a deadly weapon) in progress." A witness reports "2 males are assaulting one male" at the intersection. Patrol units are called to respond, "code 3" (an emergency situation, use lights and sirens).

12:05 a.m. 11300 block of Burbank Boulevard, North Hollywood

North Hollywood LAPD patrol units are called to the scene of an assault with a deadly weapon at the "CIA Club." A 5'5" man wearing "black clothing" is threatening another man with a gun, but no weapon is seen.

12:10 a.m. 11300 block of Burbank Boulevard, North Hollywood

Another alleged assault suspect is observed to be with the the 5'5" man, and he is wearing a "red checkered shirt." They are later seen walking away from the club on Burbank Boulevard.

12:14 a.m. 14800 block of Vanowen Street, Van Nuys

An LAFD rescue ambulance and fire company are called to the scene of a possible shooting.

12:16 a.m. 14800 block of Vanowen Street, Van Nuys

Van Nuys Division LAPD is informed by the LAFD of an "ambulance, shooting" at the residence. The dispatcher advises the patrol units that a man has called stating that his "brother was stabbed and shot."

12:16 a.m. 15500 block of Foothill Boulevard, Sylmar

Mission Division LAPD patrol units are dispatched to the scene of a "woman screaming call." Patrol units are requested to respond "code 3."

12:23 a.m. 20200 block of Lassen Street, Chatsworth

LAFD and LAPD receives a call for a possible shooting at the location.

12:26 a.m. 14800 block of Vanowen Street, Van Nuys

Van Nuys Division LAPD patrol units on the scene have investigated and determined that "there is no evidence of a shooting."

12:27 a.m. 14800 block of Vanowen Street, Van Nuys

LAFD is on the scene of the shooting and stabbing call. They cannot find a "patient" and determine the call to be "false."

12:29 a.m. 18200 block of Sherman Way, Reseda

West Valley LAPD patrol units are called to the residence for a "domestic violence, restraining order violation." Patrol units are directed to respond "code 3."

12:29 a.m. 20200 block of Lassen Street, Chatsworth

LAFD's Operations Command Dispatch (OCD) radios Engine 107 stating they are adding Rescue 96 and EMS 15 to respond to the possible "shooting" call. OCD informs the Engine 107 that "there is a report of a body in the pool, a second patient."

12:31 a.m. Roscoe Boulevard and Van Nuys Boulevard, Panorama City

LAFD dispatches a light force and rescue ambulance to the scene of a traffic collision at the intersection.

12:32 a.m. Roscoe Boulevard and Van Nuys Boulevard, Panorama City

Mission Division LAPD are called to the scene for an "ADW suspect there now." A man is reported to be "armed with a gun" and his vehicle is a "Volkswagen, unknown model." (LAFD received a traffic collision call a minute before, and this call appears to be related.") Mission Division LAPD units are responding "code 3."

12:32 a.m. Roscoe Boulevard and Van Nuys Boulevard, Panorama City

LAPD Valley Traffic Division is called to respond to the "ambulance, traffic" incident at the intersection.

12:33 a.m. 20200 block of Lassen Street, Chatsworth

OCD advises Rescue 96 that "there's supposed to be a second patient in the back" (the backyard of the residence). OCD also adds that LAPD patrol units and a helicopter unit are at the scene.

12:35 a.m. 20200 block of Lassen Street, Chatsworth

LAFD Engine 107 informs OCD that an "ALS ambulance" (advanced life services ambulance) is only needed on the scene. The responding Light Force 96 and EMS 15 are directed to cancel their response.

(Details about this incident are in the related Chatsworth Patch story. LAPD has reported that a man allegedly stabbed his wife in the neck then drowned himself in the backyard swimming pool of the residence, an alleged act of attempted murder/suicide.)

12:38 a.m. Roscoe Boulevard and Van Nuys Boulevard, Panorama City

LAFD Light Force 90 is on the scene and reports a "3 car traffic accident." They inform OCD that there are no persons trapped in the vehicles.

12:40 a.m. 16900 block of Vanowen Street, Lake Balboa

LAFD Rescue Ambulance 100 is called to the scene of an "attempted suicide" at the residence.

12:40 a.m. Roscoe Boulevard and Van Nuys Boulevard, Panorama City

LAFD Light Force 90 informs OCD that there is sufficient rescue resources at the traffic accident scene. All injuries sustained in the collision are minor.

12:43 a.m. 5400 block of Troost Avenue, North Hollywood

North Hollywood Division LAPD is called to the scene of an "ADW, domestic violence" at the residence.

12:47 a.m. Ventura Boulevard and Vineland Avenue, Studio City

North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are called to investigate a possible drunk driver passed out in his car at the intersection, "with the engine running."

12:56 a.m. 11000 block of Cumpston Street, North Hollywood

North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are called the the scene of "burglary, motor vehicle suspects, just left." The person reporting originally called about "415 juveniles" (415 is an LAPD radio code for a disturbance, this one involving teenagers ) in the area, now the teens are alleged to have burglarized vehicles parked on Cumpston Street. Patrol units are directed to respond "code 2" (without lights and sirens).

12:57 a.m. 14800 block of Vanowen Street, Van Nuys

LAFD receives another call to respond to this same location. LAFD responded earlier in the hour to this same address and it was a "false call."
