Encino Stabbing Victim Still in Critical Condition

The LAPD has arrested a suspect in connection with the attack.

in Encino on Sept. 15 is still in critical condition at UCLA Medical Center, according to LAPD West Valley Homicide Detective Scott Crowe. The identity of the man has not been released as police are still trying to contact his family.

Crowe told Patch that the man had been stabbed in the throat and was lucky to be alive.

"We went to try and talk to him; he's awake and alert," Crowe said, adding that the man is on a respirator machine.

A suspect has been arrested and is in police custody, said Crowe, who added that the victim and alleged attacker are both without permanent addresses. that a team of detectives had been sent to investigate a homeless camp in the Sepulveda Basin near the river corridor after the victim was found.
